Denture Repairs & Relines

Some people who wear dentures will experience a broken complete denture or partial denture caused by an accident such as being dropped in the sink or the denture accidentally falling on the floor. Life Happens!

Denture Repairs
During a denture repair, the broken denture’s pieces are professionally reconstructed using only a denture acrylic material in order to restore it to a like-new and useful condition. Damaged teeth or cracked dentures should never be repaired with cement or any kind of denture glue.

Denture Relines
Unfortunately, the longer you wear your denture, the more your gums will change. The result is often a loose-fitting denture. In order to restore the retentive qualities of the denture, and to prevent it from irritating your gums, you should have the denture professionally relined at least once every two years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I have to check my denture regularly by a Denturist?
A. Yes it is important to check your denture regularly we can detect any small issues with your denture and repair it before it causes a major problem to your denture or your gum.

Also checking your denture on a regular basis and maintaining them for any repairs will extend the life of your denture.

Q. My denture is broken but I can’t live without it for days until it is repaired, can you repair it same day?
A. We at prestige Denture Clinic totally understand the frustration to not have your denture for a long period of time for repairs so we are offering same day repair for most repairs and relines cases so you don’t have to be without your dentures for couple days.

Q. What is a Reline?
A. Denture Reline adds layer of acrylic inside your denture to fit better in your mouth. It’s very important to reline your denture regularly for a better fit.

Q. Why do I have to reline my denture?
A. You have to reline your denture regularly for many reasons:

  1. The structure of your gum bones and jaw underneath your denture are constantly changing as you age so your denture has to follow this change.
  2. Bad fit denture is painful, uncomfortable and can cause bigger problems down the road.
  3. Lose fit dentures can cause damage to the bone under it and also it can cause yeast & bacteria infections to the gum underneath it.
  4. Ill fit dentures are much easier to break because they are not stable in the mouth.
  5. Reline helps your dentures to fit properly and keeps your mouth healthy and functioning at it’s best.

Q. I can’t wear my ordinary dentures, it hurts and I have sore spots, tender gum all the time and my dentist said I have a “flattened ridge” in my lower jaw, how can you help?
A. Soft reline is the best solution in your case. Denture with a soft liner retains in the mouth quite nicely because it conforms closely to the shape of their gums.

Soft reline can be done in new or old dentures and they stay good for around a year until you have to replace them with new one.

Q. What is Rebase of the denture?
A. Rebase denture is needed when denture has many cracks, has been repaired many times it does not fit right in the mouth but the teeth are still in good shape and fits good with the opposing teeth then we will replace the whole base but we will keep the teeth as is.

*Denture after rebase and reline feels much better and is way more comfortable than before. We do everything in our state of art dental lab in our Prestige Denture clinic to make sure we deliver the best and highest quality in the market to our patients.
